Master keyboard commands
Paul Wardley – Computeractive

Save time navigating your computer: Use your keyboard instead of the mouse.

Speed to a location.  Jump to a specific page in a Word document with Control G.  Use that command in Excel to go to a specific cell.

Go home.  When you hold the Control key and hit Home, your cursor will jump to the top of your document.  Control plus End will take you to the bottom of your document.  Without Control, those keys take you to the left or right on the current line.

Jump back.  Hold the Control key as you move the scroll wheel on your mouse to enlarge or shrink your view of Word or Excel document.

Select a row or column.  In Excel, highlight an entire row with the Shift and Spacebar combination.  Highlight a column with control and Spacebar.

Find the last cell.  Hit the End key in Excel and then use an arrow key to move to the last occupied cell in that direction.

Memorize common commands.  In most Windows or Mac programs, you can use these basic shortcut commands: Control P to print, Control S to save, Control C to copy, Control X to cut, Control V to paste, Control Z to undo and Control Y to redo.
